Howard the Hedgehog, FO

Pattern: Fiber Trends Huggable Hedgehogs
Yarn: Ella rae Classic, Fuzzy eyelash
Thanks to the talented Kai for lending me her needle felting kit for the eyes and nose. No blood was drawn during the process! I wonder if he needs a mouth?

I named him Howard after the Bee Man. Bev suggested he needed a name and after my bee adventure, Howard just seemed to fit.

I'm not sure whether my last pineapple to grow (there is one other) is just starved for nutrients or a different variety. It is smaller, has a different shaped crown, and purple striped leaves. Time will tell.

  1. howard looks so cute! i love his nose and eyes - he looks ok as is, but you never know about the mouth until you put one on and see - the bad part would be if you didn't like the mouth you've put on and couldn't take it off....i especially love him cause i saw him and felt him in person!

  2. btw, how'd you felt the eyes and nose? was it like directly on his face or did you felt them and then attach them....i guess i would know if i was familiar with felting....

My gosh, this little hedgehog is so adorable! Yay for Howard, he's a cutie and a beauty, all at once!
I finally made my mind up what to do with your pineapple by the way - Pina Colada! Lots of it! ;) Now, how should we do it? Either you'll come over and bring it to me, or I'll be heading over to you to get it?! Hm... pondering about that here ;)

Aww! I didn't notice he had no mouth until you mentioned it--looks just as cute without.

  6. I love Howard! Will you be making more of his siblings? I think they would be great pals for the Totoros.

  12. You could call him Shin.

I think of your guy everytime I passed my son wearing his
THE SHINS shirt yesterday. Howard and The Shins could be twins!

Oh, he is so cute! I love Howard. Now I will have to find the pattern and make a Howard of my own...but maybe I will name him Winston. I think Winston is a good hedge hog name too.

  17. Adorable!!! I need to make another one!

The bar exam is next week (Tuesday & Wednesday), so if I'm not still hungover on Thursday night I'm going to try to make an appearance a MJ. I feel like we've been ships passing in the dark cause I'm there 3 or 4 times a week, but always in the day.

    Hope to see you soon!
