Rogue Alive!

Pattern:
Rogue
from The Girl From Auntie
Yarn: Jo Sharp Silk Road Aran Tweed in color Tartan (more like the top picture), Wool/silk/Cashmere
Needles: size 6 and 7
Hems: Tried the diagonal on the bottom and 1x1 rib on the sleeves
Size: smallest

I loved this knit. I thought I had gauge but did not have perfect row gauge. If I had my druthers it would be a little longer. I added several rows to make the sleeves long enough. It is modeled unblocked and looks amazing on both my my sister and her mom. Blocking may have added the length I needed. The pattern is very clever and well written. I also loved working with this yarn. It was extremely cuddly, soft and warm. The few little pokey twigs came out easily. My sister who it is for, and her daughter who is the model, and I all loved the color and the yarn. It might be a good idea to block the hood as I read about how to eliminate the small "ears" after I have seamed the hood.

I feel so lucky to have very slim women who live in cold places to knit for as I can use less yarn, heh. They are carrying away some of my other knits, Coronet Hat in Lamb's Pride Bulky Fuschia and Cascade Pastaza Braid Cable Wristlets with matching hat(not shown), STR neck sock and Noro Diagonal scarf.

Wow! Seriously: Wow!!! This turned out so beautiful, absolutely amazing! You know, I've been wanting to try Rogue for ages, but now seeing yours and reading your impressions of the pattern, I really have to get myself going and order that pattern! I mean, it seems to be the perfect thing to wear, comfy and warm and cozy - great to cuddle in, but also cool enough to wear everywhere - yep, that's it!
You did a fantastic job with it, congratulations!

I really like the look in tweed!

I ended up adding a couple more patterns to the slender part of the torso -- it was an easy way to make it longer and the cable looked just as good with a few more twists. DD has outgrown hers and is waiting impatiently for another one, wearing her Ribby Cardi in the meantime.

I'm glad I can knit socks and hats to please my dad and my brother -- knitting sweaters for them would take forever and a day!

Your rogue look great! I'm ordering my yarn right after the first. I hope the pattern is fun to make because both of my girls (16 & 23) want one.

Hi Barb! Wow! That rogue is awesome! I wish I could knit like that - hmmm . . . but I don't know anyone in cold country to knit it for. Maybe one of my goals this year should be to take some knitting classes. Know of any good ones?

I love that sweater. It reminds me of the Elwin Sweet in Interweave Knits... I think the most recent one, but I like this one BETTER. There hood is too pointy... makes it look dwarfish. This is sooo on my list to knit!

Oh my, what a beautiful knitted sweater! I saw Rogue knitted up on other blogs, but I couldn't tell from the pictures exactly what it looked like. Your photos are excellent, and really bring out the beautiful work. Great job!

That is an absolutely gorgeous rogue. I love it. I have the cardigan pattern but I haven't found the right yarn for it yet. Great job.

Lovely job! Which hem did you prefer? I did the twisted (diagonal) hem on mine and it's always struck me as pulling in a bit too much. Just wondering!

bitterknitter, I had to redo the bias hem and it lay pretty flat the second time. I think it worked well for the main hem, but the ribbing hem worked well on the sleeves and was easier.
