Knitting Prevents Whirlpools

Thanks for all the nice comments about Ella! I really appreciate all of them.

My knitting has come to a halt as a result of a combination of tendinitis and neuropathy. I have diagnosed myself and I'm treating the patient with rest, acetaminophen, naproxen, and massage. After two weeks of rest, I can say I'm better, but not well enough to knit. I have satisfied my knitting needs vicariously by cruising my bloglines. There are some incredible FOs and WIPs out there for me to ogle.

Instead I've practicing wire wrapping briolettes. Dang that stumps me! I also made another stained glass crystal bracelet, but finished it a little differently. I only had the magnetic clasp for it. The gold tone looks a bit too shiny to me, but it will do until I find something I like better.

I took a couple days off for my birthday and have just been hanging out. It feels nice to relax. I went to a concert with the local orchestra, Kenny Loggins, Mike McDonald, Ruben Studdard, Natalie Cole and local group from the 70s, Cecilio and Kapono. Hearing C&K made me think about my first real boyfriend. He was my boyfriend twice. I have no clue where he is now. Boy I was clueless back then! So wherever you are R..."I"m sorry!"

There was a lot of grey hair in the crowd. Sigh.

When I suffer whirlpools of the mind
I spin for awhile, then put my foot down.
After awhile the spinning starts again.
OMG, it just spins clockwise!

First of all: Happy belated birthday to you - all the very best for this new year of yours!
It sounds as if you've had such a lovely time celebrating it - and what a great trip down memory lane! Sometimes it's good dwelling a bit in the past - it gives us strength for the future, don't you think?
Funny about your first boyfriend - my first one was my boyfriend twice too ;) I still know where he is and what he does, but I haven't seen him for years and years - sometimes I'd love to...
And that bracelet - my gosh, this is so beautiful! Actually, this must be one of the most beautiful ones that I've seen for long! It has this vintage look to it that makes it so unique and elegant - you're a real artist!
I'm so sorry to hear about the pain you've been having - taking a break from knitting sounds like the best thing you could have done. I do hope you'll be feeling much, much better soon - take good care, my friend!

What a beautiful bracelet! I can't believe you made that - it looks like something a professional jeweler would design! Simply breathtaking!

I'm really sorry to hear about you pains. That's too bad. I know it must be very annoying not to be able to knit, as well as the added trouble of having your hands hurt. I hope the rest/relaxation techniques work well!

Get better soon!

That sounds like an amazing concert. I must have my head under a rock because I don't remember hearing about it. Love C&K!

Hope you are on the mend. I find if I knit continental then european it gives a differnt motion and I am less strained.

As for the grey haired crowd, I think it will be the same at..billy joel concert soon.

Hi Barb!

It's been a long time! I've been a very bad blogger recently. I have about 20 pictures to put up on my blog but haven't had the time. I hope your birthday was an awesome one! I love your stained glass. Everytime I see it in the shop I think, "I really need to learn to do that bracelet!" I don't know if I'll ever have a free weekend day to take the class. It's a very popular bracelet. Anyway, hope you had a wonderful birthday and I'm jealous that you went to that concert! Take care.

hi Barb - happy belated birthday! so sorry to hear about your arm injury. Hope you'll be back to making Totoros soon. :-)

Can you believe I broke my flippin' hand a couple weeks ago?? And I was racing against time to finish a little baby sweater for my sister, due with her first on May 8th. Now I'm telling her, DO NOT POP YET! I need a few more weeks of healing before I can pick up my needles again.

Hope all is well with you! I'm looking forward to seeing some gorgous photos of Hawaiian flowers.
