While Knitting Must Have...

1. The hats got modeled. Baby hats are so much fun to knit and even more fun to see on.

Hats:
Black Orange and White, fisherman's rib in Big Wool.
Cascade 220 Pumpkin Hat.
Modeled by Marcus and Adam, photos by their talented dad. Marcus is such a big boy now and so curious about everything. I love the way Lou caught the colors of autumn.

2. I pondered what to do with starfruit. They smell good, they look so interesting, but what the heck does one do with them other then float them in the punch bowl?

My sister's answer: Photograph them, heh.

3 Mess with the Thanksgiving photos. In this photo, light is streaming to the windward side of the Pali Lookout. The story goes that the King of Oahu was pushed over that cliff (from the townside) by King Kamehameha when he conquered Oahu and united all the islands under one kindgom.

1. Oh, so cute!
2. Slice, sprinkle with li hing powder, enjoy. But then, I'm also the one who prepared chunky homemade cranberry-apple sauce for Thanksgiving and thought that could use a shot of li hing too.

DH loved seeing the ray of light photo. I like the hats! Looks as if those will get worn and loved well.

Cute hats! I usually just slice star fruit and toss it in a fruit salad. Visual interest is always nice...

Growing up, my neighbor had a starfruit tree. We ate the fruit all the time.
The pumpkin hat is adorable.

Your photography is so stunningly beautiful - that last pic made me long to come over and see your beautiful island - all of the islands, actually! Awww... one day! One day for sure!
As for the starfruit, we get them here too, but like you I never have an idea what to make with them! They are so decorative, but there have to be other things to do with them! If you find out something or get a good recipe or such, will you let us know, pretty pleeze?
And oh, the kid's hats - they look fantastic - and even more fantastic modeled by the kiddos - and they're certainly the cutest models ever!

Ha ha, you know I was at the grocery store last night, and I saw star fruit. I was so tempted to buy them, but I have no idea how to eat them either!

You know, your story of the King of Oahu and King Kamehameha reminds me of a picture we had in our living room when I was growing up. It sort of depicts that "Great" battle. Once, my mom (Dutch) laughingly said it was a family reunion gone wrong, ha ha! (Dad, who is Hawaiian, wasn't to happy with her for that remark).

Oh, the hats are really adorable, too. Good job on them!

Beautiful skies! Living in Hawaii has really made me appreciate the variety and diversity of cloud cover. Maybe it's just a Nuuanu thing. Starfruit...prettier than tasty, I guess. Will we see Must Have tomorrow night?

I ate starfruit when I was a kid on Maui. Can't tell you what it tasted like, but it was probably good! ;-) I think you can make jam out of it too.
