Books

Obsessing often leads to shopping and hanging out in Barnes and Noble with a gift card leads to purchases, it's some kind of law. I not only found this book on Andean folk knitting with a nice mitten pattern but also got one the the "edge" books.

Back on the knitting front, I was stumped by lack of size nine dp needles or I would have jumped ship and started on some other projects. I could do nothing but make progress on the now emerging giant gansey. I'm working on the neck before tackling the sleeves. The great thing about the construction is there are no seams!

I finished a bow scarf in the never ending icky brown stuff, and will post pictures when I sew in the ends.

I was also amazed by The Giving Flower's yummy food stitch markers! I wanna eat those chocolate chips! (I'm not sure why I can't link directly to that page, but hit the home button)

Oh my, you spoiled brat!! ;) I love that folk knitting book. Do you mind if I pop over to peek through while we drink some coffee together? I'll bring the coffee.
I'm just so jealous you get to go to a bookstore any time you want and get such gorgeous books. English books are expensive and hard to find here. Of course Amazon is great but you can't page through them first.
Definitely good book choices. Thanks for the link to my food. :) I'm honored. :)

Ooh, I'm so envious!! What an awesome book haul! That Andean folk knitting book looks wonderful. I've been admiring the mittens on Kimberly's blog and can't wait to see the ones you make. And I've been coveting those Nicky Epstein books for a while, but I haven't read any reviews on them. I'd love to know what you think of them. I love Kimberly's stitch markers, too! So cute and ono looking! Take care!! :-)

Did you get the knitting over the edge book on the bargain table? I saw it there a few weeks ago and almost bought it. I am such a beginner knitter that I decided against it. I participated in a KAL of some cute mary janes in November. It was my first one. It was fun!

I HATE Barnes & Noble. I used to work upstairs from one - now THAT was dangerous! Knitting Over The Edge is such a great book. I just ordered Knitting On The Edge and that one looks good, too.

Those are some great book choices. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for a good discount on the edge books. Now I'm getting a craving to try colorwork mittens...

Hi Barb!
I love those mittens. I discovered the Norwegian knitting on Yahoo, and have signed up. I hope to see you there. Also, I updated my Blogger profile, so feel free to email or YIM me away...
