I See Cork People

While traversing the acorn forest with his Chinese cousin, Corky came to realize that only he saw cork people!

Pattern from Manne, translated by SaartjeKnits. Yarn from Kai, obtained during the great Aloha Knitter giveaway, 100% handspund/dyed mohair. I was surprised to find that some "corks" are synthetic now. I erased the markings with sandpaper. And no, I did not drink 5 bottles of wine, knitters honor!

Thank you for all your well wishes. I am now at the stage of this cold where I think I may live and don't feel the need to whine constantly.

Knitting Iris had the most fun post about acorns. I am now obsessing on the Wee Folk.

So will the cork folk hang out with the Totoros, in some jolly forest frolic? Do you need more wine corks? I bought a bottle of a wine called The Black Chook today, simply because I was smitten with the name of it - okay, its description sounded delicious, too, but Chook is sort of an Aussie/NZ word for chicken, and of course we love chickens around here. Anyhoo, once I imbibe the Chookie, you're welcome to the corkie.

Happy, happy Thanksgiving, m'dear! Shout out if you want to hang out sometime this weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you're feeling better. I got the flu, too, and it's just awful. I hadn't felt so sick since I gave birth to my daughter!

I love the yarn purchases. Now I don't feel so guilty about all my trips to the craft store . . . .

OH! I noticed on the knitty hat that after knitting the cable, it says to "pick up stitches with the band wrong side" (I think it says that). I didn't do that. I did at first, but it makes a funny line around the band, which I had to frog.

I happen to get a link to your blog from Moon's blog and I just have to say your stuff is adorable. :-) I especially love the totoros. I'm in Moon's knitting group although right now I'm in NH for school,so perhaps I've met you but I don't remember. (I'm really bad about that kind of stuff). :-) But if I haven't met you, nice to meet you ! :-) Love your blog. :-) I hope you'll let me link to you on my blog. :-)

Love your gnome friends. I knit one from my daughter's first ever homespun (she was 10) It's a great project for little bits of yarn.

Oh my, oh my, oh my! LOOOOOOOVE all those acorns, and Korkenissen as well. THAT DOES IT! I'm off to look through the stash for some yarn to make some!
We just pulled out all our Christmas decorations which include a bunch of Christmas-y Wee Folk fairies that I made several years ago. I'll have to get some pictures of them soon to share on ye olde blog.
