I thought you were going to say "by reading mainlanders' blogs!" Heh. (what on earth is oama?!)
Friends and relatives who live in places like Oregon, New Mexico, and NYC start begging for warm hats and mittens!
Friends on the mainland start bragging about the pretty colors their leaves are turning. Also, the World Series. That's indicative of Fall for me. :)
1: The ocean gets more cold and it's harder to find good days to go swimming!2: 70 degrees feels like freezing!3: If you're really lucky and live/d Manoa Valley like me, every once in awhile you get to see your breath first thing in the morning!
that is an incredible display of colour! and i have no idea of what oama is either.
Add me to the list of people who don't know what oama is. Well, actually, after asking the hubby I know now. For me, it is the koleas that are beginning to signify the transition to winter. But the other big thing is that the waves die down on the south shore and pick up on the north.
Hmmm...maybe Obama craze is heating up? :)
