Sidetracked

Big sister turns 60 this year and although I won't be making it up to Tacoma for the festivities I have to think of something to make for her. She wanted a sparkly colored Swarovski cube bracelet, so I made one with a magnet like she likes and a guard chain as those magnets are risky. Now how to get good pictures of crystals? I tried scanning but any light source gets reflected and the colors don't show up well. Natural light is the best so far.

She also loves Hello Kitty and last time we were in China town I bought a bunch of Hello Kitty stickers. Why? Retail Therapy ala knitbrarian is a good guess. I was fascinated by the glass marble magnets on Crafster Forum and the small sticker just fit. Now I'm obsessed with finding a 1/2 inch paper punch.

And so it goes.

Happy Birthday to your sister! Her bracelet is so beautiful!! I love the Swarovski cubes and I especially like the magnet and guard chain. Very pretty! Did you teach yourself jewelry making or did you take classes? I'm so impressed with all the gorgeous jewelry you always make. I couldn't even make stitch markers, so I can't imagine crafting a whole bracelet! ;-) My sisters both love jewelry, so I'd really like to learn jewelry-making someday. And your magnets are so cute!! Love the Hello Kitty and hmm... wonder what the 1/2" paper punch is for? ;-) Take care, Barb! :-)

That bracelet is great - you are a jewelry goddess. And I love Hello Kitty! My mom used to fill my easter basket every year with Hello Kitty! stuff. Every time I see her it brings back memories.

You make lovely jewelry. It's one of those things that I can't quite get my hands to do right, and your finishing is so nice! The magnets are really cute. Every time I see people make them I want to try my hand at it!

OOOoooo! The bracelet is beautiful! Are those the ones you got in Chinatown? I love making those kinds of magnets. In fact I ran out of those circle magnets and forgot to buy some the other day at Ben Franklin. And I absolutely love my 1/2 punch. Actually I love all my circle punches. They are so handy!

You make beautiful jewelry!! You should sell that stuff!

When my husband and I had our honeymoon in Hawaii, he bought me a pearl/Swarvoski crystal bracelet with a magnet clasp.

Love it!

Gorgeous bracelet! And I love making marble magnets - probably one of my favorite crafts.

Hope your sister has a Happy Birthday!
